The Evolution Test (closed beta)

Honkai: Nexus Anima isn't out yet. Its second closed beta, the Evolution Test, is the next big chance to play it and the source of most fresh information.

The basics

  • Starts: 9 July 2026 (closed beta).
  • Recruitment window: 22 June – 3 July 2026 (23:59 UTC+8). Testers are drawn by lottery from everyone who pre-registers and completes the questionnaire.
  • Platforms: Windows PC, Android, iOS.
  • Type: Closed beta, with limited keys, a wipe expected afterward, and an NDA-style "don't expect your account to carry over" footing. It's for testing, not the real launch.
  • Earlier test: a first closed beta, the Nexus Bond Test, ran in late 2025. That's where most of the data on this site comes from.

What it's for

This is where the systems get stress-tested and rebalanced: the auto-chess combat, the Aspect and Trait synergies, the Animaster roster, evolutions, and the open-world capture loop. Expect numbers and even mechanics to change between this test and launch. That's the whole point of a beta.

From the developers (DevTalk)

HoYoverse runs a DevTalk series of developer updates. Recent ones have shown:

  • New Anima: Fyrklor, an Aspect of Strength that wields a greatsword to protect others, and Hoggit, an apple-pie-scented piglet of Satiation.
  • Environments: better night-time lighting in Iia, plus the New Quarter, a new skyscraper district (home to Fleming Tower) whose flagship store is themed on the Anima Umpurrella.
  • Coming up: Anima combat improvements, previews of new characters, and that new district.
  • Dev focus: performance and optimization, localization, quests, environments, and characters.

There's also a separate, smaller "Aspect Exploration Project," a multilingual confidential playtest the team uses to validate designs. It's distinct from the public tests like the Evolution Test, and recruitment for it has opened in the past. Watch the official channels for the next round.

How to sign up

The recruitment window is 22 June to 3 July 2026 (23:59 UTC+8), through HoYoverse's official channels:

  1. Go to the official global site hna.hoyoverse.com (or CN yyjl.mihoyo.com).
  2. Log in with your HoYoverse account and complete pre-registration.
  3. Fill in the recruitment questionnaire. Use a correct email — access notifications are sent there and it can't be changed later.

Testers are drawn by lottery from everyone who pre-registers and submits the questionnaire, so a slot isn't guaranteed. You can check your result with the "Check Test Access" button on the official site. Joining the official Discord and the community events gives extra chances. Access is free — be wary of anyone selling "beta keys" or test accounts.

Why it matters for this site

Once the Evolution Test is live, real numbers start to land: confirmed synergy values, character kits (Exclusive Principles and Offer Relics), creature stats, and the actual gacha rates. That's when we replace the provisional data here with verified figures and add the things we're holding back today: a real power tier list, per-creature skills, and a confirmed gacha model.
